BUZ PR Celebrates GWMs FLORID Car Launch Public Relation Success

BUZ PR in collaboration with Percept Gulffz renewed its Public Relations strategy with a formidable communication approach for the recently held GWMs FLORID car launch by Al Naboodah Group.

The successful event, held on 8th December at the Great Wall Motor’s Showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, marked the return of BUZ’s PR division in top form. The road to success was chartered with the appointment of Percept Gulffz for event management and BUZ PR for the public relation and media management.

BUZ with its consistent track record and strong media expertise was the obvious choice for a project of this magnitude.

The objective of this PR exercise was to ensure that FLORID grabs the media as well as consumer attention as an affordable, luxury car without being branded as yet another Chinese invention. Following FLORID’s launch in the international market where it was met with mixed reviews by the media, it became important that the car’s past does not reflect heavily on its present.

The communication to the media had to be crafted deftly so as to earn a positive review and wide coverage. The single major factor that stood as a hurdle in an otherwise smooth strategy was the brand. It did not have the mass appeal or the glamour to get the media excited.

BUZ PR with a strong line up of success stories in its kitty, such as SportAccord, Oasis: Water for Africa, Olympus PEN1 launch, and World Pearl Forum had a challenge on its hands.

Foremost on BUZ’s agenda was to craft an invite for the media with an element of suspense and surprise. The invite piqued their interest. This was followed by personal media follow-up – a strategy that ensured more than 45 media attendance for the event and feature coverages in leading UAE publications such as Al Bayan, Al Royah, Dar Al Khaleej, Gulf News, Khaleej Times and Gulf Today.
